COBURG DECO

Coburg Deco is a light-filled extension that draws inspiration from the Art Deco detailing of the existing home. A strong horizontal datum, expressed as a timber picture rail that doubles as a pelmet and decorative feature, echoes the picture rails and banding typical of Art Deco architecture. This line continues through to the timber-framed windows, which open to the north and connects the interior to the garden via a dramatic two-storey void. Throughout, the detailing offers a contemporary interpretation of the original house features.
